Your tasks

The successful candidate will join a dynamic research laboratory investigating the pathogenic role of the tumor microenvironment in mature T-cell malignancies. The project focuses on the comprehensive multi-omic characterization of tumor–microenvironment interactions using state-of-the-art technologies, including single-cell and spatial multi-omics, advanced flow cytometry-based immune cell annotation, sophisticated co-culture systems, and disease-relevant in vivo models. The postdoctoral researcher will independently design and conduct experiments, contribute to data analysis and scientific publications, and actively supervise PhD, MD, and Master's students. The position offers an excellent opportunity to perform cutting-edge translational research within an interdisciplinary and highly collaborative research environment.

Your profile

  • PhD in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Hematology, or a related life science discipline
  • Strong background in cellular immunology and molecular oncology
  • Extensive hands-on experience in primary cell culture, multicolor flow cytometry, CRISPRi screening, functional cellular assays, and mouse handling
  • Experience with the bioinformatic analysis of single-cell and spatially resolved multi-omic datasets
  • A strong publication record and the ability to independently design, conduct, and interpret scientific experiments
  • Experience in supervising PhD, MD, or Master's students
  • Excellent communication skills, a high level of motivation, independence, and team spirit
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English

The Pflug/Braun lab is dedicated to studying the causes and predisposing factors that lead to the development of mature T-cell entities. We aim to deepen our understanding of these orphan diseases and generate key insights that contribute to the development of more effective treatment strategies. To achieve this, we employ a combination of cutting-edge molecular biology, cell biology, and animal models to uncover the underlying mechanisms driving disease progression. The lab is located on one of Europe‘s top research campuses with state-of-the-art facilities.
