Your tasks

  • Establishment of flow cytometry analyses with high-parameter panels (i.e. deep-immunophenotyping)
  • Planning and performing of flow cytometry cell sorting with state-of-the-art devices
  • Supervision, training and assistance of new and unskilled users
  • Support of analysis and interpretation of flow cytometry data
  • Conducting daily/weekly routines on flow cytometry devices
  • Development of technical service concepts and device-specific training modules
  • Execution of device installations, updates, upgrades, and specialized repairs
  • Creation and maintenance of technical documentation and device-specific error trees

Your profile

  • You hold a PhD in biology, biomedical sciences or related fields
  • Profound expertise in state-of-the-art multi-color flow cytometry analysis
  • Background in immunology is a plus/desired
  • Experience in flow cytometry-based cell sorting
  • Experience with flow cytometry data analysis tools (i.e. FlowJoTM)
  • Excellent personal and communication skills (German appreciated, English mandatory, both spoken and written)

Your future in detail

A position is available as PostDoc of the newly founded Flow Cytometry Core Facility at the CMMC/TRIO at the University Hospital Cologne, Germany, which is funded by the Dean’s office of the Medical Faculty of the University of Cologne. Join us to support scientists on the research campus in their projects by training and advising on the latest flow cytometry techniques. Improve your expertise in training courses and seminars to be able to enhance the quality of flow cytometric analyses and support the conduct of high-performance cell sorting. Currently, the Facility is under development and is in the process of acquiring new flow cytometry devices. The facility contains well-equipped laboratories within biosafety levels (BSL) 1 and 2.
